          Description

The Martin Custom Shop 45 Style dreadnought is crafted for discerning players seeking an instrument with appointments as impressive as its tone. It starts with a solid Sitka spruce top and figured cocobolo back and sides, a tonewood combination that produces a robust low end with shimmering highs. The cocobolo's dramatic grain is shown off by a natural satin finish. A mahogany neck and ebony fingerboard provide a smooth playing experience.

Adirondack spruce Vintage Tone System (VTS) top

The VTS-torrefied Adirondack spruce top is aged using a proprietary process to produce a vintage-inspired tone. The spruce becomes more resonant over time, with an emphasized midrange and rich overtones. The VTS top provides the articulation and punch of Adirondack spruce along with the warmth and complexity of an older, played-in guitar.

          Striking Figured Cocobolo

The Custom Shop 45's cocobolo back and sides feature a dramatic curling grain pattern with dark reddish-brown hues. Cocobolo is a dense, oily wood that produces a complex tone and ages well. A natural satin finish allows the cocobolo's figure to shine through, highlighting the craftsmanship in this all-solid-wood dreadnought. Gold frets, rosette and tuner accents provide tasteful adornments without detracting from the cocobolo's beauty.

          Premium Comfort and Playability

The Custom Shop 45's mahogany neck has a Modified Low Oval profile that feels substantial yet nimble in your hands. Its ebony fingerboard has a medium width and radiused fingerboard edges for comfort. 20 frets provide ample room for complex chords and melodic runs. Gold Waverly tuners keep the Custom Shop 45 in tune and add a touch of vintage-inspired style.

          Handcrafted in Nazareth

The Custom Shop 45 is handcrafted in Martin's Nazareth, PA facility using time-honored techniques passed down through generations. Martin's team of highly skilled luthiers select premium tonewoods and components to create an instrument worthy of the Martin name. Each Custom Shop 45 undergoes a rigorous quality control process and setup to ensure impeccable playability right out of its included hardshell case.

The Martin Custom Shop 45 Style dreadnought is an investment in craftsmanship and tone that will only appreciate over time. Its striking cocobolo sides, resonant solid-wood construction and buttery playability make it a guitar you'll bond with for life.
